Kidlavie Murals

Spanning over 10,000 square feet, the Kidlavie murals stand as one of my largest mural installations. This Kidlavie murals project took about four months from start to finish. These time-lapse clips highlight the process at the new Kidlavie attraction inside Oak View Mall, showcasing the evolution from blank walls to fully realized environments.

The project included murals in four party rooms and seven pieces throughout the outer space–themed dining area. Each section was designed with its own identity while maintaining a consistent visual theme. The outer space concept allowed for imaginative scenes filled with planets, stars, and exploratory elements. For inspiration behind immersive environments like this, resources such as the International Interior Design Association highlight how creative design enhances user experience.

The scale of the Kidlavie murals required detailed planning, layout precision, and coordination across each phase. From concept digital mockups to final details, every step focused on durability and visual impact. Working at this size meant adapting to different surfaces and lighting conditions. If you’re interested in the mural process, you can learn more about how projects are developed on the Omaha Mural project page, which outlines each stage from concept to completion.

Time-lapse videos capture the full progression of the Kidlavie murals, showing layering techniques, color development, and detail refinement. These clips provide a behind-the-scenes look at how large-scale murals come together over time. They also demonstrate the craftsmanship and consistency required to maintain quality across such a large environment.

Overall, the Kidlavie murals were created to bring energy, color, and imagination into the space. The final result is a cohesive and engaging environment designed to enhance both play and dining experiences. Projects like this show how custom mural work can completely transform commercial interiors, making them more memorable and visually impactful.

This 10-foot-tall telescope mural is located near the dining area, designed to fill the vertical space and enhance the immersive outer-space atmosphere.
