Midtown Crossing reached out to artists in the Omaha area for another Sunny & Chair Community Art Project. Artists were to paint Adirondack chairs for prominent locations throughout Midtown Crossing. We were thrilled that Midtown Crossing partnered with Omaha Steaks and offered an increased stipend for the project. I submitted my application and was excited that I was one of 10 talented artists to be selected to participate in painting one of Omaha’s most iconic destinations and was chosen to represent the Henry Doorly Zoo.
The iconic Henry Doorly Zoo is a shared favorite attraction amongst Omaha residents and visitors. I see something fascinating and new every time I vist the zoo but I realized that I will never be able to illustrate the massive variety of animals you can discover. I decided to represent some of my favorites on this chair. You are likely to find creatures in every nook and cranny when you visit.
